On October 5, 2020, we published an Ontario Employer Alert reminding employers that by December 31, 2020, all designated public sector organizations and organizations with 20 or more employees in Ontario must file an Accessibility Compliance Report.

On or around October 8, 2020, the government extended the deadline for all businesses and non-profits with 20 or more employees to file their Accessibility Compliance Report to June 30, 2021.

Affected Ontario employers should use the extension to ensure they have complied with their AODA obligations and filed an AC Report ahead of the extended deadline. For employers with 50 or more employees, making their websites and web content accessible to the WCAG 2.0 Level AA standard must still be completed by December 31, 2020.
