Marie-Claire Howard brings extensive experience in small business management to her role as V.P. Finance & Operations at Howard Chern Employment Law.

Marie-Claire is responsible for overall financial oversight, including banking, accounting and tax, as well as managing key supplier relationships and special projects primarily relating to marketing and communications.

Marie-Claire plays an active role in the community.  In 2022, Marie-Claire was elected for a four-year mandate as Park Board Commissioner for the City of Vancouver.  Previously in her role as Board Chair of Alliance Francaise Vancouver, she spearheaded the construction of the $22 million cultural centre on Cambie.  She is currently a Founder and Board Vice-Chair of the CCI France-Western Canada.  In 2023, she received the Order of Merit from the French Government for her dedication to the French community.

She began her career as a journalist, first in her native France and then in Toronto.  She then worked for a prominent Toronto public relations agency before joining the communications team supporting the Ontario government’s flagship job creation program.  Since moving to Vancouver, Marie-Claire has worked in communications for BC Housing and then as a consultant for clients such as IBM and the BC Association of Professional Foresters.  Since 2000, she has managed a number of small businesses.

Marie-Claire has an MBA from the Australian Institute of Business.  She studied political science at the Université de Grenoble Alpes in France, journalism at the Toronto Metropolitan University and English at the University of British Columbia.
