Associate

Howard Employment Law (HEL) is seeking an employment and labour law associate, ideally with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will work closely with two busy partners, managing some client files and projects independently while also supporting the partners. You will benefit from ongoing mentoring and training, as well as ample opportunities to interact directly with clients and represent them in litigation in various courts and tribunals. While much of the workload will consist of advising employers on workplace issues, drafting policies and contracts and dispute resolution, the successful candidate must be comfortable with representing clients in civil and tribunal proceedings, including mediations, discoveries, applications and hearings. Remuneration will consist of a competitive salary, which may range from $100,000 to $140,000 depending on the candidate’s qualifications, based on a billable target of 1200 hours, plus a significant Health Spending Account. Bonuses can be earned for exceeding billable targets.
